For households leaving in crisis — today

Crisis Relocation Clearance

Some moves cannot wait. The household has to be out tonight. The door is not safe to use after dark. The children cannot stay one more day. When the situation has reached the point where standing still is more dangerous than acting, the next person you talk to should be a duty supervisor who has handled these calls before.

A duty crew responding rapidly to a household needing immediate relocation

If you are in immediate danger right now, please call 999. For 24-hour domestic abuse support call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (free, women) or the Men's Advice Line on 0808 8010 327.

What 'crisis' actually means in this context

We use the word crisis carefully. We do not mean stressful, inconvenient or unwelcome — we mean genuinely unsafe to remain in the property for another night. That might be because of an immediate threat (a perpetrator returning, an organised-crime threat that has just been actioned, a stalker who has located the address). It might be because of an environmental risk (a structural collapse, a sewer backflow, a fire that has rendered the property uninhabitable). It might be because of a safeguarding decision (children being moved out under an emergency protection order).

How fast we can move

From a confirmed booking we can have a duty crew at most major UK cities within four hours, and within eight hours of essentially any UK address. The duty supervisor is on the helpline 24 hours a day. If you can give us 30 minutes to plan, we can give you a confirmed ETA and a written quote within the same call.

What a crisis move typically includes

Most crisis moves start as a single-vehicle collection of essentials — documents, medication, children's belongings, pets, immediate clothing and personal items. The bulk of belongings can usually wait a few days to a week and is handled as a second visit at less rushed pace. This phased approach keeps the price down and reduces the decisions the household has to make under acute stress.

No premium for genuine safeguarding emergencies

Our published call-out rates apply to commercial out-of-hours work — for example, landlords needing a midnight clearance for re-letting reasons. For genuine safeguarding emergencies (domestic abuse, stalking, witness protection, child-protection plans) we charge the standard day-rate, regardless of the hour. We can be paid directly, billed to a local authority or referring agency, or invoiced under a framework agreement.

Who calls us for crisis relocation

About half of our crisis-relocation work comes through referrers — the police, social services, women's-aid services, refuges, mental-health crisis teams, GPs and out-of-hours doctors. The other half comes direct from households themselves. Both are equally welcome and both get the same response.

Reach the duty supervisor now

Our 24-hour line is staffed by trained crisis-response supervisors. There is no charge to call and no obligation to proceed.

Frequently asked questions

Can you really move someone tonight?

Yes, in most cases. Ring the helpline and a duty supervisor will quote within the call. The constraint is usually not our capacity, it's the practical work of agreeing what is being collected and where it is going — which is why the planning conversation matters.

What if we don't have somewhere to go yet?

We can hold belongings in secure storage for up to seven days at no charge for safeguarding emergencies, while accommodation is arranged. After seven days standard storage rates apply.

Do you need ID or proof of who I am?

We need enough verification to know that you are entitled to remove the property from the address, but we are not the police and we work pragmatically. For survivors, women's-aid workers can vouch for you. For witnesses, the police protection officer is the contact. For families with children, a social worker's confirmation is enough.

Will the perpetrator be able to find us through you?

No. We use the same protocols as on our survivor support work — unmarked vehicles, addresses held by one named supervisor, no addresses on any paperwork that travels with the crew, internal data retention purged within 30 days.

How do I pay if I have no money on me?

We will not refuse a genuine safeguarding emergency over payment. If you are paying privately and can pay later, we will agree that and document it. If you are being referred by an agency, the agency pays. If you are eligible for emergency funding (Discretionary Housing Payment, Women's Aid hardship fund, local authority emergency budget) we will help you access it.
