Why a stable move matters in recovery
Anyone working in addiction recovery will tell you that stability and predictability are not optional in early recovery — they are structural. A move that overruns by two days, a removal company that doesn't show up, a forgotten item that has to be retrieved from the old address in a panic, can all destabilise a fragile early-recovery position. Our role is to make sure none of that happens. The move is on the day agreed, at the time agreed, with the items agreed, to the new address agreed.
Coordinating with recovery workers
Most recovery move-outs are arranged in coordination with a recovery worker, a community-recovery champion or a key worker. We deal directly with that person from the booking through to completion, and we will adjust the timetable to fit around groups, key-work appointments, and any other commitments the resident has in their recovery week.
What we typically move from recovery accommodation
Recovery accommodation is usually furnished, so the move is lighter than a standard residential move — usually clothes, personal items, hobby equipment, sometimes a few pieces of furniture the resident has acquired over the placement. We transport everything in a single vehicle, set it up in the new home, and where it helps we will make the bed up and lay out the kitchen so the first evening in the new home doesn't have to start with logistics.
Clearance of the recovery placement room
When a resident moves out, the room itself needs to be cleared and made ready for the next placement. We do this as part of the same booking where the recovery service has framework agreements with us. The room is cleared of any personal items the resident has left behind, deep cleaned, and made ready for the next arrival — typically within 24 hours.
Working with the recovery model
Our supervisors who handle recovery move-outs have been briefed on the core principles of harm reduction, 12-step and SMART recovery, and on the boundaries of what a contractor can and cannot do. We will not bring alcohol or drugs into the new home as part of the move. We will not encourage the resident to take items they have explicitly identified as linked to past use. We hold the recovery worker's brief and we stick to it.

Yes. Supervisors and crew who handle recovery move-outs receive specific briefing on the recovery model and on the practical disciplines that support a stable transition.
Do you have framework arrangements with recovery services?
We have framework arrangements with several UK recovery services and dry-house providers. New framework discussions take about four weeks.
Can you coordinate with the new tenancy provider?
Yes. Many recovery moves are into housing-association or supported-housing accommodation, and we coordinate with the tenancy provider for keys, access and any move-in protocols.
What if the resident has a setback between booking and move day?
Setbacks happen and are part of the recovery journey. We will not penalise a recovery move-out for a setback. The booking can be rescheduled without cost and we will support the recovery team in adjusting the plan.

Framework rates for partner recovery services. For individual private bookings, in the £200–£500 range for a typical single-vehicle move-out from recovery accommodation.
